2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, North CoastOur 2009 Cartlidge & Browne Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from four vineyards: two in the Red Hills AVA of Lake County, one (28%) at a somewhat higher elevation than the other (34%); one in the western hills of Knights Valley (30%); and one in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley (8%). It should be said that all four of these bring a lot to the table, figuratively and literally. A deep garnet in color, the 2009 wine gives an immediate impression of ripeness and density with its rich aromas of cassis, plum, fig, and black cherry, buttressed by inviting notes of cocoa, cedar, vanilla oak spice and sweet tobacco. Its expansive mouth feel and generous texture highlight dramatic flavors of roasted black fruits, espresso, anise, and toffee. It will pair wonderfully well with any grilled or roasted red meat or game, hearty polenta and risotto preparations, as well as full-flavored cheeses. |

2010 Chardonnay, North CoastVery French in style with an elegant minerality and complexity combined with the slightest caramel and brown sugar notes. Aromas of a green, red and brown apple medley and more floral honeysuckle lead to a palate that is both silky and alive. Flavors of honey and baked bread from sur lees aging while maintaining a delicious fruit profile. Very versatile. This wine is so well balanced with excellent acidity that it will perfectly pair with a number of foods. Will be particularly delicious with an aromatic roasted chicken cooked with lemons, garlic and herbs. Or try with a range of seafood dishes, grilled chicken, pork or veal. |

2007 Merlot, North CoastA full, deep garnet in color, the 2007 Merlot offers lush, ripe aromas of plum and black cherry, along with wonderful suggestions of spice cake, cocoa, and fine toasty oak. On the palate, it is generous and soft, with lots of black fruit flavors, mocha and anise, along with a touch of rose potpourri. Enjoy it with grilled or roasted red meats, poultry and feathered game, or with less spicy pastas and risottos. Tannins are plush enough to make it very enjoyable all by itself |

2010 Pinot Noir, North CoastCherry, strawberry and rhubarb notes define the aromatics of this wine and are backed by hints of cinnamon and oregano. Bright flavors of cherry, raspberry and ripe tomato are balanced by a layer of earthy mushroom. Smooth and silky! Delicious with a variety of meats such as lamb, veal and venison and particularly splendid with salmon. Pinot Noir is widely considered one of the best companions to food because of its good acidity and body complementing rather than overpowering food. |

2010 Zinfandel, North CoastThis approachable, fruit-forward Zinfandel is a sure crowd-pleaser. Having just a touch of Petite Sirah (5%) give this Zin a little more structure. The wine was aged in a 50% split of French and American Oak for a year, with about 30% of that new. This allows the Zin to practically burst with aromas of ripe black cherry, a little blueberry and brown sugar. Rich berry and soft chocolate linger long on the palate, mingling with soft tannins and spice. This well-structured Zinfandel is perfectly balanced between tannins and acid making it an excellent companion to a range of foods. It can easily handle a good bit of spice on your favorite barbecue and is perfect with spicy, tomato-based dishes. |
