President: Tony Cartlidge
Tony grew up in London, England. He has a unique combination of intellectual curiosity, adventurous spirit, and entrepreneurial drive. He’s attended architecture school, driven antique furniture across Europe, led camping trips in the Soviet Union and North Africa, driven logging trucks and cement mixers in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, and, started working in the wine business as a tour guide in the Napa Valley in 1979. The following year, he launched Cartlidge & Browne. Tony lives with his wife and children in St. Helena.
Winemaker: Paul Moser
Paul Moser was born in Sacramento and grew up in Southern California. He went on to graduate from Stanford University and spent two years at Stanford’s campus in Tours, in the Loire Valley, where he perfected his French and worked at wineries both in the Loire and in Burgundy. He came back to California and worked as a sommelier at the Ranch House in Ojai. While later working as a wine buyer in a wine store in San Francisco, he met Tony Cartlidge and the rest is history. He lives in Napa.
National Sales Manager: Bob Babbe
Bob Babbe was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and grew up in California. He followed his dream of endurance auto racing (Porsches!) for five years after college before becoming a partner in a new wine distributorship in Santa Cruz. Since 1993 he has been a partner in Cartlidge & Browne. He lives in Napa with his wife and son and enjoys hiking (he and Tony have traveled the John Muir Trial together several times) and bicycle racing.
